I believe it was when I photographed my first door in a tight frame, sometime in the 1990s in the Lot, that everything clicked. That day, I realized the graphic and aesthetic power one can give to an object, no matter how ordinary or everyday it may be. Thinking about the perfect framing, the right exposure, and the ideal aperture to heighten the textures. In the end, it’s so obvious.
Until then, I took photographs. After that, I made photography.
