Since photography is etymologically "writing with light," it draws the photographer in, just as it draws insects.
Religious buildings are ideal spaces for capturing both direct light—such as that from candles, tapers, and tea lights—and, in my view, the more fascinating indirect light, such as the shards of light from stained glass.
